FEATURES & BENEFITS

When you're welding often, it's great to know that you can replace key parts to your favorite welding helmet. The 370 Replacement Headgear, made by Jackson Safety (with the distinctive red “Jackson Meatball" logo on the adjustment dial) is compatible with a wide variety of top welding helmets including Halo X, HSL, Nitro, WH40, SmarTIGer and WH70 series (sold separately). It's designed for comfort, with a three-position slider to adjust the distance from eyes to lens, a crown strap adjustment to raise or lower the helmet, and a large ratchet with a soft rubber grip that allows size adjustment without removing the helmet. This headgear locks into a detent when the helmet is lifted, helping to keep it in the upward position until the welder lowers it. An included sweatband helps absorb perspiration (additional sweatbands are available for purchase separately).

  • Three-position slider allows welders to adjust the distance from the eyes to the lens
  • Includes a crown strap adjustment to raise or lower the helmet
  • Large ratchet with soft rubber grip allows size adjustment without removing the helmet
  • Locks into a detent when lifted, helping to keep it in the upward position

Instructions

Instructions for using the Operating Cost Analysis Tool

The Operating Cost Analysis Tool is divided into four sections:
- Section 1: Input Data - raw data used in the calculations
- Section 2: Output Data - calculated data based on Operating Cost formulas
- Section 3: Summary Data - a comparison of the initial and energy costs for each option
- Section 4: Graph Data - a graphical comparison of the initial and energy costs for each option

Input

Enter the appropriate data on the "Input Data" page

If necessary, you may change the default data that automatically appears in the input fields.

All of the WHITE cells must contain input data for the model to work. If fields are left blank or as zeros the data will not be complete. Not a number (NaN) and infinity values indicate an error.

The system airflow rate is set at a default equal to 2000cfm multiplied by # of Filters. The system airflow rate appears when you enter a value in the "# of Filters" field. To change this default, simply enter the actual system airflow in this field and do not change the "# of Filters" field.

To clear all fields and reset the inputs to their defaults, use the "Clear All" button. To reset only the input fields, use the "Default Input" button.

Output

The "Calculations" section displays the calculated data based on the input data. These calculations are use to create the Summary Data. It contains the following sections: 1) Initial Investment Costs 2) Energy Costs.

Energy Calculations are based on the following formula:

Filter pressure drop is calculated as the straight line average between the initial pressure drop and the final pressure drop.

The "Calculations" section cannot be changed.

Summary

The "Summary Data" section displays a comparison of the results for each option. This page also recommends which option would realize the most savings.

Graphs

The "Graph Data" displays a graphical comparison of the cost categories between each filter option.
