COMING FULL CIRCLE: CUSTOMERS GO GREEN WITH THE RIGHTCYCLE* PROGRAM

The Illinois Sustainable Technology Center (ISTC) had a problem on their hands. After conducting a waste audit, they found that disposable gloves made up 10 percent of their total waste by weight. Looking to reach their goal of 100 percent zero waste to landfill, the Center searched for solutions, not realizing that the answer was right at their fingertips – literally.

ISTC was already using Kimberly-Clark* Purple Nitrile* gloves when they discovered the RightCycle* program, the first large-scale recycling program that helps research labs, pharmaceutical companies, industrial manufacturers, hotels, and universities divert nonhazardous waste from landfills. After implementing the program, ISTC reached an estimated diversion rate of 89% in their labs. But they didn’t stop there. They extended the program to their dining halls - a huge success for the campus. With the ability to recycle both gloves and apparel, the ISTC dining hall reached an estimated diversion rate of 90%.

The RightCycle* Program is helping customers transform hard-to-recycle products into new consumer goods across all the Kimberly-Clark Professional* divisions. Through the program, customers are doing their part to improve landfill diversion, and reach their zero-waste-to-landfill goals.
