1. Patrick H. from Georgia: “Add auto hand sanitizer dispensers in elevator lobbies and add auto tissue dispensers inside bathrooms.”
2. Bill H. from Illinois: “We have incorporated the use of hands-free dispensers. We have also established hand sanitizer stations throughout the building. Our employees are encouraged to get flu shots. We post the CDC guidelines throughout the building - next to exit doors with trash cans underneath. Tissue can be used to open the door handle.”
3. Laura J. from Georgia: “We are sending frequent reminders on hand-washing tips, such as singing the alphabet to yourself while washing.”
4. Cindi S. from North Carolina: “Always use your own pen or pencil to write with, “this keeps you from being infected with germs. Spray your desk daily with Lysol to stop the spread.”
5. Londra T. from Illinois: “My company has installed KIMBERLY-CLARK PROFESSIONAL* antibacterial foam dispensers next to our time clock to be used upon entering the building. The dispensers are also installed in each of the restrooms.”
6. Patti C. from Ohio: “We have purchased sneeze guard covers for food served at meetings. The plastic domes cover the food and have doors to open and close. No more open containers or food products allowed. Everything is individually wrapped or covered.”
7. Emily L. from North Carolina: “Provide hand sanitizer, boxes of tissues and wastepaper baskets everywhere and also plenty of handwashing supplies and facilities. Encourage each other to use good hygiene techniques - especially when sneezing.”
8. Josephine L. from Texas: We have a ‘Stay Home when you are sick’ policy in place. We have showed everyone how to cough and sneeze into your elbow. Our newest idea was to clean all phones with isopropyl alcohol at the end of each day to make sure not to spread any germs.”

Our organization has done many things to fight flu this season. All staff were given the opportunity to receive the seasonal flu vaccine for free. The H1N1 vaccine will also be given free. We have also sent emails about how to keep safe during the flu season. -Barbara, PA

We posted hand washing procedures from the Health Department in all restrooms and place hand sanitizer stations for employee and guests throughout the buildings. We also provided personal boxes of Kleenex [Brand tissues] for everyone, and sent out a flu and H1N1 flu symptom evaluator chart to all employees. Just simple stuff. -Jim, WI
