Environmental Policy

We believe that environmental responsibility and product quality are two important elements of good business that go hand in hand and our operations reflect that belief.

For example, because many of our products derive from wood pulp, we take care to ensure that our forest lands remain a renewable resource as well as a healthy habitat for plants and animals. Overall, we plant two trees for every one we use.

Another important environmental focus is on using less material to make quality products. We are also implementing waste redcution programmes such as material recycling and waste to energy incineration. We are also exploring new manufacturing materials and processes that can meet tomorrow's environmental needs.

  • We purchase over 250,000 tonnes of waste paper P.A.
  • 80% of all fibre we use in the Professional business is recycled
  • All mills recycle internally generated waste

Overall, Kimberly-Clark typically invests around £200m a year in environmental protection systems, with the objective of meeting or surpassing applicable government and corporate requirements
